Once I was absolutely sure I had the right bios, I tried again, and was booted back to the menu screen yet again. When that didn't work, I checked to make sure I had the right bios. So when I boot up my mini, and try to run the Sega CD games, I'm booted back to the menu screen. I made sure the files were all correct with notepad ++, assigned to the appropriate cores, and that the added files were not compressed. I added them to the system folder, and added my games, which were mainly bin & cue files, with the occasional CHD file (which I am aware only runs on Genesis Plus GX). I used the file path "etc/libretro/system", and added the following bios, case sensitive as instructed, which were bios_CD_E.bin, bios_CD_J.bin, and bios_CD_U.bin. When setting up Sega CD games, I followed Patton Plays tutorial to a T. I'm able to get all of my Genesis/Mega Drive games, as well as Game Gear, Master System, and 32X to run fine, and mainly through Genesis Plus GX. The main cores I use for retroarch are Genesis Plus GX, and PicoDrive. Up until I tried installing Sega CD games, I've had no issues getting games to run. Every time I try to run the game, I'm kicked back to the menu. Be forewarned, as this may be a little TL DR, as I'm not going to leave any stone unturned, as I explain everything in detail to the best of my ability.įor well over a month now, I've been having issues trying to get my Sega CD games to run on my Genesis Mini. Before I go any further, let me catch you up to speed with the specific issues I've been facing. As the title suggests, that for whatever reason, retroarch doesn't seem to recognize that I've installed the Sega CD bios in the appropriate folders, by saying the files are missing.
